It has taken me a while to write this post. I have been busy, and a bit worn down from last week. Lots has been going on.
Last week I had a special treat, I got to spend some time with Beth. Just the two of us. It was great. We had lunch and then hit a Starbucks for some hot chocolate, and some tea. It was so nice!! We got to chat about everyday things. We got to get to know one another a bit more. And we got to chat about our expectations for the next 6 months.
We both agreed that time was flying. That Spring will be here soon and so will the baby. So we wanted to start some of the planning, from the shower in May, to the birth plan....all things that have to be talked about. What we found out is that we share many of the same worries and concerns. We have similar expectations and know our limitations, which makes it so much easier, I cannot tell you. We had a good laugh over all the things that we were afraid of. It was great to be able to talk about those things, and agree on how we wanted to proceed. I feel very lucky that we have such a similar vision, and that we each respect each other so much that we only want the best for not only the baby, but also each other.
We have our second prenatal appointment on Monday, so I will see Beth again, and see how baby is doing. We are both looking forward however, to the March 3rd ultrasound when we find out the sex. That will be very exciting.
I will write more then. Right now we are happy that baby is doing well, and that Beth is also holding up. She looked great when I saw her. Healthy and glowing. It's nice. She did have morning sickness during the time that she was still taking the injections. That was a hard time for her. She was also very tired and I felt terribly that she had to keep doing the injections for so long. But once they were done, she felt well and healthy. We are able to hear the heart beat quite easily now, so it's so nice that I can hear that any time I like. It's a nice link for Martin and I.
Tonight I have Martin home, after some time away in New York, so I happy. I think everyday about the day that I get to meet our little baby. I miss him or her in my life. I cannot wait for the next half year to pass.
Peanut, mommy and daddy can't wait to see a picture of you in a few weeks. We miss you and can't wait to hold you.

March 3 is my IP's dream birth day (although I don't think they'll get to be born on the 3rd). It's at least exciting that something exciting will happen on that day!
You fooled me with the profile pic change-cute pic though!
haha!! Yeah, the blonde is long long gone. I cut all my hair off this past summer, and decided no more colour....just natural. I liked the blond but like being natural more. No more chemicals to dye it.
Why March 3rd?
Sounds like you had a great visit with Beth. Can't wait to hear how Monday goes, wishing you all the best! March 3rd will definately be an exciting u/s...but I'm still not sure about the sex because you haven't said very much about HOW she is carrying. So here, I thought I would set out some specific questions to ask her and you can email them to her and then post them so we can make our guesses.
Is she Carrying High, or Carrying Low?
Are the Heartbeats typically over 140 or under?
Does she crave sweet things? Or sour things? Or salty? the most?
(For you N), is your hubby (daddy) putting on weight?
Is her face round and full? Is it nice and rosy?
Is she carrying the extra weight only in front or all around?
What direction does her pillow face, North or South? I know this is a crazy one but it might have some meaning according to the old wives.
Was the month of conception even or odd?
Is her feet colder or not colder than before?
Does the hair on her legs grow faster or the same during this pregnancy?
I'll let you know the results to the questions after you post the anwsers if you want. But then I'll make my guess to on what I think it is. This is so much fun!!!
Wow - that sounds like a great visit Nat! I am glad that you both were able to speak about your worries and dreams uninterrupted. Beth seemed so nice when I met her - you guys are a perfect match!
Wonderful news about the home doppler - isn't it just the sweetest sound?!?!?!
I love your baby ticker. Your wee babe isn't so wee anymore.
Just remember my 18 week u/s story. We weren't able to determine the sex - we had the world worst tech so just keep that in the back of your mind lady. Always good to prepare just in case.
You are doing really great. All of your sadness and aching heart will disappear soon. I promise.
hugs!
A, you make me laugh!!! I will get those answers to you soon!! I love it. haha!!
And S, I know what you mean about preparing for the worst, I have done that thus far and I think it's a good way to be. The good news (I hope) is that this ultrasound is going to be in Toronto, at the hospital were my father-in-law is the high risk OBGYN (and where we hope to have the baby), and used to be chief of staff. So I know that everyone will know who we are, and that those people that usually would not be so nice, are on their best behaviour. I can always hope anyhow.
When did you guys find out the sex then? I know that does happen, but I would be so disappointed!! I know what you mean though about people not being sympathetic to the process....but it's bound to happen!
Hugs and kisses to little Brielle!
Oh - it sounds like you guys will have some wonderful pull in a great way! I am just thrilled about that for you! We ended up finding out at 24 weeks at a 3D u/s. But it sounds like you won't have any problem as long as babe cooperates! On top of a unfriendly tech - the umbilical cord was in the way!
Hugs,
S
A: here are the answers:
1. So far, hard to tell, but in the past, I have without exception carried high.
2. Don't know, we'll see tomorrow.
3. Salty - which is a surprise to me.
4. Martin has put on some weight yes, and I've been blaming it on the travel...
5. I think its round and full.
6. The weight is everywhere....EVERYWHERE!
7. Actually, west.
8. We're going by November, right? So odd.
9. As cold as usual.
10. Ooh, hard to tell. I'll try to pay closer attention.
So there they are. Both my answers and Beth's. Marty did not appreciate being asked about his weight!! haha. Again, it's the travel...or so we think!!
K, by your anwsers:
Is she Carrying High, or Carrying Low?
If High A GIRL, Low a Boy
**So I say Girl for now....
Are the Heartbeats typically over 140 or under?
You didn't anwser this, I'm sure you've had heartbeats prior. Under 140 Boy, over girl.
Does she crave sweet things? Or sour things? Or salty? the most?
Craving sweet it's a girl, salty/sour boy. S
**o I say BOY
(For you N), is your hubby (daddy) putting on weight?
Hubby gains weight, girl,
**so I say GIRL!
Is her face round and full? Is it nice and rosy?
You said yes,
**so that means GIRL
Is she carrying the extra weight only in front or all around?
Weight all around BOY, weight out front, Girl,
**so I say GIRL
What direction does her pillow face, North or South? I know this is a crazy one but it might have some meaning according to the old wives.
Your anwser didn't help me on that department.
Can't find the month of conception results. Sorry.
Is her feet colder or not colder than before?
Colder than usual, boy, not colder, girl...
**so I say GIRL
Does the hair on her legs grow faster or the same during this pregnancy?
Hair growing faster boy, same rate it's a girl...you didn't anwser that one.
So all in all I say GIRL. I carried a GIRL and my anwsers were:
Carried High
Heartbeats over 140
I craved sweet things, lots of them
Not sure about the hubby thing
Face was round and full
Weight only in front (you couldn't tell I was preggers from behind)
Skipped the direction of the pillow, don't know same with conception month
Feet pretty much the same
Hair grew the same if not slowed down
All those added up to GIRL for me, so my official guess is GIRL, I'll go vote
Thanks A!! I can't wait to see how right you were!! so fun!!
